This month, NTW will hold a webinar dedicated to Radioactive Waste Management in Sweden presented by Johan Swahn:
assessment overview of the quality/bad and good examples (from perspective of key elements) with lessons taken from those national case studies.
Nuclear Transparency Watch has evaluated the application of transparency in the development of national radioactive management programs with several national case studies.
The case studies aim to include examples from early stage and advanced programs with both large and small inventories. Each case has a different context and considers:
-the management of spent fuel and radioactive waste, current developments, judicial situation;
-how transparency and public participation (T&PP) are applied concerning access to information, access to and effectiveness of public participation/consultation, access to justice and access to resourcing (criteria of the Aarhus Convention and BEPPER report).
The series is introduced by an assessment overview of good and bad examples from the perspective of key elements with lessons taken from each case.
One case every month is foreseen to allow exchanges of information to broaden understanding.
