H1. Below Ground Waste Disposal Silos.

H1. Below Ground Waste Disposal Silos. These concrete domes, each eight feet in diameter, form caps for underground silos 15 to 20 feet deep that contain radioactive laboratory equipment, construction debris, and dry wastes contaminated principally with cesium-137, strontium-90, and cobalt-60. The wastes were buried here between 1986 and 1993. Long-term groundwater monitoring of this area will be required for decades.
